I am working on a second edition of my Naturalists' Handbook 24-Ants. In the new ones, the colour paintings and line drawings (except for keys) are being replaced by photos. I am hoping to take most of these and I am wondering if anyone is prepared to help me with precise locations of nests etc. for the more Southern and rarer species. I live in Yorkshire so have access to only about 17 species in my own county. I will send a list of what I need or post it on here later. Any information would be helpful, but I have had very good experiences with lat./long. data and 10 digit grid refs.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Hi All,
I am aware that there are plenty of records on NBN for many of these, but they are often dated. What I am after is recent info. where someone knows now where a species can be found. I have limited time for this (this field season basically) plus, I may well have to make quite long journerys so I would like to be as sure as I can that I will find what I am looking for when I get there. Your reward, acknowledgement in the book! I will take only photographs and maybe a few specimens. However, I am not collecting as such but getting photos for the book.
Thanks in advance for any help.
