Adding a single image for a species.

To add an image to the list of images associated with a species, you need to create content of type image. When logged in select Content > Add content > Image from the admin menu at the top of the page. Fill in the following details:

  • Filename- set to the image's file name (this is not used anywhere, but helps to identify which image this piece of content is associated with).
  • Image - browse to find the image file to upload. It is suggested that where possible, you should upload fairly high resolution images of around 1500 pixels square as the website will automatically resize them to create thumbnails and so on. Also please avoid any particularly wide or tall panoramic images.
  • Credits - enter credits for the image.
  • Caption - enter a caption for the image.
  • Taxonomic hierarchy - browse through the hierarchy a level at a time to find the species this image is to be associated with.
  • Weight - set to a number from 0 to 50 to indicate the "weight" of the image, the idea being that a "heavier" image will sink to the bottom of the list. So, good images that should appear near the top of any list should have a lower weight number.

Finally, save your new image content.
