Distribution
This map is for Chrysis mediata agg.
Cornwall to Kent and north to Worcestershire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.There is an old record from Cumbria and recent records from south-east Ireland.
Overseas, occurs in Europe (including Norway, Sweden, Finland,The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary) and the rest of the Palaearctic, excluding Japan.
Status (in Britain only)
This species is not regarded as being scarce or threatened, although the current number of recent records indicates its status may need to be reconsidered.
Habitat
Found in the habitats of its host including sandy and clay banks, cliffs, mud and cob walls.
Flight period
May to September.

Variety of open-structured flowers.

Parasitic biology
Its host is the mason wasp, Odynerus spinipes (Kunz, 1994; Linsenmaier, 1997).
